At the entrance to where we live, there used to be a beautiful area of ditch and flowers and greenery.
We sadly watched as it was filled in and all that loveliness turned into piles of dirt.
One day, while watching my daughter perform, in yet another new dance outfit, an image came to my head that I just couldn't shake.
A dancer in the wilderness;
Celebrating it;
Protecting it;
Wearing the sparkling outfits that we parents spend so much money on, that most likely will be worn only once or twice.
With these pictures in mind, a plan emerged to build a community calendar for charity with these images. Auditions are held and donations are asked for to help fund the project, sponsors help pay the calendar printing costs, and the calendars are sold to raise money for a charity that is suggested by supporters and hand-picked for a perfect fit with the values of the calendar.
